Free Google review QR code generator

Make a print-ready QR code that opens your Google review form when customers scan it.

Need the link? Use our review link generator.

What it does: turns your Google review link or Place ID into a print-ready QR code card and a scalable SVG.

Files you get: a PNG card (900 x 1200 pixels) for invoices, flyers and door hangers, and an SVG of the code alone for stickers and signs.

Cost and privacy: free, no sign-up, and the code is made in your browser, so your link is never sent to us.

What is a Google review QR code?

A Google review QR code is a square barcode that opens your Google review form when a customer scans it with a phone camera. It removes every step between a happy customer and a review, which is why it works well on paper that a customer already holds, such as an invoice.

How do I make a Google review QR code?

  1. Get your review link with our review link generator, or copy it from your Business Profile.
  2. Paste the link or your Place ID into the tool above and add your company name.
  3. Press the button and check the preview card.
  4. Download the PNG card for print, or the SVG if you need a sticker or sign.
  5. Scan the code with two different phones before you print anything.

Where should a contractor put a review QR code?

Put the code wherever a customer is already looking at something from you, right after the job. The best placements are the ones that match the moment the customer feels most satisfied.

How big should a review QR code be?

Print the code at least about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide for close-up use such as invoices, and larger for anything scanned from a distance. A common rule of thumb in QR code guidance is that the scanning distance should be about ten times the code width, so a code scanned from 3 feet away should be about 3.5 inches wide. This is a rule of thumb, not a standard, so always test the printed result.

Where it is scannedTypical distanceSuggested minimum width
Invoice or card in handAbout 1 foot1 inch (2.5 cm)
Door hanger1 to 2 feet1.5 inches (4 cm)
Yard signAbout 3 feet3.5 inches (9 cm)
Van side5 to 10 feet6 inches (15 cm) or more

The sizes above apply the ten-to-one rule of thumb and are our estimates. Your own phone test overrules the table.

What makes a QR code scan reliably?

  • High contrast: dark code on a light background. Do not invert colors or use pale ink.
  • Quiet zone: keep a clear margin around the code, about four modules wide. The PNG card and SVG from this tool include one.
  • Flat, matte surface: glare and curved surfaces make scanning harder.
  • No logo over the code: covering part of it can cause scan failures.
  • Short link: shorter data makes a simpler code that scans from further away.

Should I use the PNG card or the SVG file?

Use the PNG for ready-made print pieces and the SVG when you want to place the code in your own design or enlarge it. A PNG is a fixed-size image, so enlarging it too far makes it blurry. An SVG is vector art that stays sharp at any size, which suits van stickers and signs.

How do I test my QR code before printing?

Scan the code on screen, then scan a test print, using two different phones if you can. The review form should open with your company name. Test again after printing a full batch, and test a sample of each print run, because ink and paper change results.

Does a QR code work forever?

The code stores your review link directly, so it keeps working as long as that link works. It is a static code, so there is no subscription and no third-party redirect that can expire. If your Place ID changes or you move to a new profile, create a new code. Several locations need one code each.

What does Google allow when asking for reviews?

Google allows you to share a review link or QR code and ask customers for reviews. Its policy bans offering incentives such as discounts or gifts for reviews, asking only happy customers, and reviews from employees. Do not put wording like "Leave a 5-star review for 10% off" on your card. The tool's card says "Enjoyed our work?", which asks for a review without asking for a rating.

Do review QR codes help local rankings?

A QR code does not rank you by itself. It makes asking easier, and Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help local ranking, which is mainly based on relevance, distance and prominence. Pair it with a complete profile and strong service pages, as explained in our local SEO for contractors guide, and use the review calculator to set a target.

Frequently asked questions

Is the QR code generator free?

Yes. It is free, needs no account, and runs in your browser.

Can I print the card at a print shop?

Yes. Download the PNG card, or send the SVG file to a print shop for stickers and signs.

Can I add my logo to the code?

This tool does not place a logo over the code, because covering part of a code can cause scan failures. Add your logo next to the code in your own design instead.

Do I need a different code for each technician?

No. The code points to your business profile, so one code works for everyone. Use one code per location.
